Job Description

JoinCefn Carnauas an Occupational Therapist Assistant and change the lives of adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders and an autistic spectrum condition.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assisting in the planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will:

  • Assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
  • Support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
  • Maintain adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
  • Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
  • Verbal and written communication skills
Where you will be working:

Location : Cefn Carnau Lane, Thornhill,?Caerphilly, South Wales,?CF83 1LX

You will be working at Cefn Carnau ; a l ow secure/r ehabilitation service for adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders and an autistic spectrum condition.

The programmes provided at the service, include a sex offender treatment programme , anger management, trauma therapy, art psychotherapy together with bespoke psychological sessions aimed at people with learning disabilities .
