We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Pentonville, a category B male and young offenders prison located in Islington, London with a capacity of nearly 1,200.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. There are lots of opportunities for training and further development!
Hours:
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, and you will work on rotational shifts, including weekends. Shift patterns are 07:30 - 15:00 and 07:30 - 17:00.
Salary:
This position is full time , you'll receive an annual salary up to £28,800 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
- Carry out healthcare duties on the wings and within the healthcare centre
- Carry out duties such as phlebotomy, observations, ECGs, health screening and detoxification tests
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
- Support the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care on the wings and healthcare centres

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
- Ideally have experience in a care setting, such as a hospital, health clinic or prison
- Any experience in phlebotomy, ECG tests, health screening etc would be a bonus
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care would be beneficial, but not essential
