Job Description
Role: Lead Medicines Management Technician
Location: Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC - part of HCA Healthcare UK) , London
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience (with excellent benefits)
We're looking for a Lead Medicines Management Technician to join our team at our Leaders in Oncology Care site currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC.
Based in London's medical district, our hospital is accessible and is considered an employer of choice. Our pharmacy team delivers an exceptional patient-centred service across our world-renown campus that house several centres of excellence from to Complex Oncology to Cardiac to Diagnostics
As a key member of the Pharmacy Team, the Lead Technician , Medicines Management will be responsible for the developing, monitoring and leading on all aspects of the technician-led, clinical oncology pharmacy services to ensure high quality, innovative and up-to-date pharmacy services which consistently meet the needs of all clients within the hospital. This is a patient facing leadership role with a large focus on service development and ensuring that Medicines Management Technicians (MMT) provide the highest standards of patient-focused care.
Role Responsibilities:
Medicines Management
- Ensuring accurate drug histories, medicines reconciliation, evidence based medication advice and timely discharge of patients in order to meet the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) agreed by the Head of Pharmacy.
- Accountable and responsible for ensuring an effective and safe technician-based medicines optimisation/management service by planning daily, weekly & monthly activities, with particular attention to work flow, patient waiting times and priority of workload.
- To participate in providing a comprehensive Medicines Information service under the direction of a Pharmacist.
- To assist with identifying, managing and minimising risks within medicines management or other areas of pharmacy
- Managing Senior Technicians (MMT's)
- Responsible for the development of Pharmacy Technicians
- Stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Projects(s) (QIPs)
- Accountable and responsible for ensuring the dispensary services follow GPhC and regulatory standards

What you'll bring:
- Experience of dispensary and medicines management/optimisation
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) accreditation
- Medicines Management Qualification (desirable)
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Extensive experience of working within a hospital setting
- Leadership and Management Skills
