Key Responsibilities :

Perform a range of laboratory tests and procedures within the microbiology department, ensuring accuracy and quality.

Analyse and interpret complex results to aid in diagnosing and managing infectious diseases.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all apparatus is functioning properly and safely.

Ensure compliance with laboratory standards, health and safety guidelines, and quality protocols.

Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, fostering a collaborative and effective work environment.

Contribute to research and development projects, driving innovation and improvement in laboratory practices.

Requirements :

Proven experience working in a UK Microbiology laboratory at Band 7 level, with a strong understanding of quality processes and standards.

HCPC registration is essential.

A full UK driving licence is preferable for ease of travel to various sites.
