Role: Head of Pharmacy
Location: The Christie Private Care Manchester, The Wilmslow Hospital.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours a week
Contract Type: Permanent

As a key member of the HCA pharmacy leadership team, you will work with the Director of Pharmacy and other Heads of Pharmacy across HCA UK. You will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive leadership and management of all pharmacy and medicines management services, including service and personnel development and strategic planning. The postholder will be accountable for ensuring compliance of all legislative, governance and operational aspects within pharmacy and clinical areas.

We're looking for a Head of Pharmacy to lead our Manchester and Wilmslow facilities. Currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC. Currently the world's largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care, The Christie Private Care provides advanced cancer care and houses the world's largest early clinical trials unit. Our specialist team treat private patients using a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day care and outpatient treatment all on one site.

Job Description

• Collaborate with the facility senior leadership team and pharmacy leaders and key stakeholders across HCA UK in alignment with the One HCA Strategy.
• Overall responsibility for all medicine's management services provided within the hospital including medical gases, ensuring the hospital needs are met.
• Develop and maintain safe and evidence-based medicines management practices which comply with appropriate regulatory bodies, including clinical, risk, quality and financial parameters.
• Accountable for development and maintenance of policies, procedures and guidelines in line with current legislation and best practice.
• Responsible for the delivery and provision of a safe and effective Pharmacy service in all clinical areas.
• Contribute to the overall success and profitability of the hospital through revenue development and effective cost management.
• Actively participate in departmental budget setting and to be responsible for achieving agreed targets.
• Provide professional leadership to all pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with the GPhC, Code of Ethics and their personal and professional development.

What you'll bring:

• Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council, with a BPharm, MPharm or BSC in Pharmacy.
• CMI Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent or willingness to enrol.
• Practice Supervisor, Train the trainer or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive leadership experience.
• Extensive hospital experience essential.
• Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society is desirable.
