Job Description
Job Title: Senior Care Assistant
Location: Mental Health Nursing Home, Ilkley
Hourly Rate: £14 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, Combination of Days and Nights / 8am to 8pm - 8pm to 8am
Are you an experienced care professional with a passion for mental health? We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a specialist Mental Health Nursing Home in Ilkley.
About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our residents, supporting their mental and physical well-being. You will lead a team of care assistants to ensure that all care is delivered in line with individual care plans, promoting dignity, respect, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering person-centered care to residents with mental health needs, including assistance with daily living activities.
- Supervising and supporting care assistants, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
- Administering medication and assisting in the development and review of care plans.
- Monitoring the health and well-being of residents, reporting any changes to the nursing team.
- Supporting residents with social, emotional, and physical needs, encouraging participation in activities.
- Promoting a safe and positive environment within the home.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a senior care role, preferably within a mental health setting.
- A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work a combination of day and night shifts.
